Florence LP cover 'designed by Maccabees'

Florence Welch has revealed that the cover of her debut album Lungs was designed by Orlando Weeks from The Maccabees.

The singer, who records under the name Florence & The Machine, described the unusual outfit as "a lung bra-cum-necklace".

"He's a fellow art student and does a lot of craft stuff. So he had the job of sewing these lungs," she told the Daily Star.

"All the other boys had to leave the room when I put them on, but he got to stick some lungs to my boobs."

Last month, Lungs was included on the Mercury music prize shortlist. The winner will be announced on September 8.
