Dickinson's career spanned over four decades and saw him work with a range of acts including The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin and Mudhoney, while he also collaborated with Ry Cooder and Bob Dylan.
He is widely regarded to have been a major influence on the Memphis rock and blues sound of the 1960s and 1970s. He notably recorded The Rolling Stones song 'Wild Horses' and featured on Bob Dylan's Grammy Award-winning 'Time Out Of Mind'.
Dickinson passed away from heart and intestinal problems last Saturday. He is survived by his two sons and wife Mary, who reportedly claimed that he had been suffering from such symptoms for three months prior to his death.
