The group have opted for a dancepop sound on the Right Said Fred-inspired track, leading to allegations from some quarters that they are neglecting their edgier roots.
However, speaking to That Grape Juice, bandmember Heidi Range commented: "I hate it when people say 'too commercial', because you're just getting on with what you do and you want it to be a success. The more people who enjoy it, the better."
The girlband's longest-serving singer Keisha Buchanan added: "With our last album, we didn't do commercial, so I think the most important thing is to move with the times [and] stay relevant. The music industry changes so much.
"A couple of years ago, it was saturated with loads of indie bands and it's all about the survival of the fittest to be honest. You can't please everyone but it's all about winning new fans on board and I think that we've done that with this new single."
'Get Sexy' will be released on August 31, with the trio's seventh studio album following in November.
