Prior to a private service in Waukesha, members of the public will be invited to pay tribute at the Discovery World museum along Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, The AP reports.
President Joel Brennan said: "We are honoured to have been asked by the family to be a part of a celebration of his life."
He added that some of Paul's family will be attending the tribute service, which will be held from 10am to 2pm.
The museum's exhibit on the guitar pioneer's life will be free to the public and include a showing of Paul's last ever concert in Wisconsin, filmed last year at Milwaukee's Pabst Theater.
Les Paul passed away on August 13 at the age of 94 in White Plains, New York.
