The Seldom Seen Kid group claimed that supporting U2 on their current tour is a "childhood dream come true".
"It's a great honour to support them because they're the biggest band in the world at the minute and have been for 20 years," Guy Garvey told BBC 6 Music.
"I keep thinking, 'Right, what do you do next apart from that kind of thing yourself?'"
Elbow recently announced that they have already penned 40 tracks for their next album and will begin recording it after completing the tour.
