The 28-year-old singer, who's been recording the LP for the last two years, collaborated with artists Ryan Adams, Jesse Harris and Okkervil River's Will Sheff on several tracks.
Jones suggested that she tried some "different things" on the record, including working with a new backing band, Angry Ape reports.
She said: "I'd been playing with the same musicians for a long time. We're all still friendly and I hope we play together again, but it felt like a good time to work with new people and experiment with different sounds."
A release date and tracklisting for the album are expected to be announced shortly.
