The Dead Set star, who releases music under the Riz MC moniker, told DS that he wants to continue splitting his time between both jobs.
Ahmed said: "I can't see one fading away right now. I'm stepping both of them up. I'm just finishing off my debut album and I'm putting together a special interactive live show that's going to open at the end of November at Sadler's Wells Theatre.
"There's a healthy tension, because every time you do a film it means you can't be recording or writing or gigging for a few weeks."
He added: "Likewise, every time you start to go on a tour or commit to studio time or putting on a special live show, you can't do filming for a few weeks.
"You're never going to do anything just for the hell of it, because if you don't really want to do that then you just think, 'OK that's fine'. So it balances out kind of nicely."
Ahmed confirmed that his debut album will include the tracks 'Radar' and 'People Like People'.
Together with Sway and Plan B, Ahmed also recorded the True Tiger-produced theme song for Shifty, Eran Creevy's debut feature which was released on DVD earlier this week.
