According to Angry Ape, Okereke was forced to announce the band's cancellation to the waiting crowd and was subsequently promoted to the headline act at Paris festival Rock en Seine.
On stage, the Bloc Party singer said: "So I'd like to take this moment to say, 'Ah that's a shame, isn't it guys?' So I guess by default we are headlining.
"I'd like to dedicate this next song [Mercury] to those who wanted to see, ah, those inbred twins."
In 2007, Okereke branded Oasis "the most overrated band of all time" and "luddites" in an interview with Uncut magazine.
