The mystics are unimpressed with the singer's adoption of Kabbalah, Sky News reports.
Jewish television recently showed scenes from Madonna's dressing room, where Kabbalah book the Zohar was displayed.
However, Kabbalah purists argued that the religion can only be practised by men over 40 or by those who abstain from material desires.
Leading Kabbalah Rabbi Yitzhak Batzri said: "Madonna is not dealing with the real practical Kabbalah.
"We deal with spiritual issues of the soul, whereas Madonna is dealing with issues of the body as well. Her teaching of Kabbalah is erroneous."
Madonna reportedly enlisted a police escort for her visit to Israel.
