Special guests at the screening in New York on September 21 will include Kofi Annan, Gillian Anderson and the film's star Pete Postlethwaite.
Yorke will reportedly give an acoustic performance of the movie's theme song at the end of the event.
The premiere will be held in a green carpet, solar-powered cinema tent and be linked by satellite to 442 US cinemas and 200 more across the world.
After the film, the guests will join director Franny Armstrong and producer Lizzie Gillet for a live panel discussion.
Yorke recently announced the release of a solo 12" record featuring two new songs.
