The singer told BBC 6 Music that she wanted to wait until the duo had finished touring next year.
She added that she wanted to make sure that she was working with her co-writer and producer Ben Langmaid.
"We're not the kind of people who will send MP3s from other countries," she said. "I hate stuff like that and I don't understand how anyone can work like that.
"I'd like to wait a good few months where we get to a point where we can turn off our phones and go away and do it."
Jackson also insisted that she wanted to keep a "DIY feel" to the music.
"I think that's the charm of this record," she remarked. "I don't want a big name producer because we are the producers. If it's not broke, don't fix it."
She concluded: "I'd love to be here longer than six years but I know what it's like - it's very difficult to stay in the public eye and to keep people excited for that long because everyone is very impatient.
"There isn't a lot of great stuff out there and people want quick fixes."
