Massive Attack's new LP 'in state of flux'

Del Naja confessed that the group have already binned two whole versions of the record, saying that the follow-up to 2003's 100 Windows is currently "in a kind of state of flux".
Defending the protracted recording sessions for the new album, he told The Guardian that the 'Unfinished Sympathy' rockers have not been resting on their laurels.
"I work really hard," he stated. "I'm dividing my time between being here [in the band's studio], painting in the garage next to my house, trying to finish the sleeve, then we've got rehearsals over at Bath. Average day, I work from about 11am, 12pm 'til about 10pm at night."
Bandmate Grant Marshall added that they presently "have about ten tracks we've mixed or are mixing right now", before confirming that Damon Albarn, Elbow's Guy Garvey and Martina Topley-Bird have all been lined up for guest appearances.
"[Garvey's] working on four tracks on that one. Martina Topley-Bird's worked with us on two tracks and Damon Albarn worked on at least one," Marshall explained.
"An album is a big concept to take in and now people want more than the playlist you give them, they want to make their own playlist. People expect more than 45 minutes of music. So, maybe we'll give them [the songs] away and they can make their own compilation of the tracks that we have."
