The rapper's two-hour live performance at Madison Square Garden included special appearances by his wife Beyoncé, Kanye West, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Swizz Beatz, Sean Combs and John Mayer, reports Contactmusic.
At one point in the show, Jay-Z told the crowd: "They believed they would weaken us. They were sorely mistaken... We stand here tonight even stronger."
The tribute concert marked the eighth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks and helped raise more than $1 million (£666,000) for the New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund.
