GaGa 'bleeds' onstage in VMA performance

The singer, who picked up three gongs at the New York ceremony, was crushed by a chandelier at the start of her set.
After being helped to her feet by dancers, she sang a few lines of 'Poker Face' before switching to an increasingly-frenzied version of 'Paparazzi'.
GaGa then staggered around stage and began to drip blood from her ribcage. Appearing tearful, she dabbed the blood on her face and fell to the floor.
In the climax to the performance, a lifeless GaGa rose in the air above her dancers as a golden halo shone out around her.
