Lady GaGa 'wanted lion for VMAs'
Published Monday, Sep 14 2009, 20:27 BST | By Oli Simpson

The star - who picked up three gongs at the New York ceremony - is believed to have demanded a strange array of items for her performance in an attempt to "upstage" the other guests attending.
Angry Ape quotes a source as saying: "It sparked a war backstage as GaGa was clearly trying to upstage the biggest acts. While the likes of Beyoncé kept their riders simple, Lady GaGa wanted to make a grand entrance.
"As well as a plush dressing room with all the usual demands of champagne and fluffy towels, she wanted a jungle animal.
"Her people left a list of companies which provide tamed, trained lions and a formal request was lodged with VMA organisers."
However, the 'Paparazzi' singer's rider demands were ignored as she eventually walked down the red carpet unaccompanied.
