The 24-year-old, who is the only original member of the 'Get Sexy' girl band, formed the group with Buena and Siobhan Donaghy in 1998.
"I saw Mutya the other day in a club and we said hi," she told Heat.
"It was quite sad actually, I thought, you know, being in the same building as someone you grew up with, and then just like seeing each other in the toilets and being a bit, 'Hi you alright?' And that's it. It's sad, but you've got to move on."
Bandmate Heidi Range revealed that she has had no contact with Buena since she quit the group in December 2005.
"I haven't really spoken to her since she left, but not because we fell out," she said.
"We were really good friends and she never called to say she'd left or even why she'd left.
"I expected a phonecall and that's it really. Never a cross word. I was really upset, but I don't wish her any harm.
Sugababes release new single 'About A Girl' and seventh studio album Sweet 7 in November.
