Talking to MTV backstage at the VMAs last Sunday, Madonna praised the 'Just Dance' star after watching her performance earlier on.
"I just saw Lady GaGa," she said. "She looks like she's going to a carnival in Venice, very beautiful."
Asked how she feels about being compared to the 23-year-old, she added: "I'm very flattered."
Meanwhile, GaGa recently revealed that she has had enough of being likened to other female musicians.
