Joe Satriani's Coldplay lawsuit 'dismissed'
Published Tuesday, Sep 15 2009, 21:31 BST | By Oli Simpson

The guitarist sued the band last December seeking compensation based on his accusation that they had copied his 2004 song 'If I Could Fly' for their 2008 single 'Viva La Vida'.
However, reports have emerged that the lawsuit was dismissed yesterday at California's Central District Court "upon stipulation", suggesting that an out-of-court settlement may have been reached.
According to NME, Judge Dean Pregerson decreed that both the parties bear their own trial costs as the case was closed.
