The singer, who recently previewed new material on her official website, will also record a special tribute for her late brother Michael.
"It's about dancing. We're going back to basics and fundamental sounds of Janet - a lot of up-tempo stuff that makes you feel good," Jerkins told the Daily Star.
"I worked for years with Michael and became real close friends with him. Now I'm working heavily with Janet. For her to do a tribute for him, it's gonna be amazing. It's about brotherly love."
Jerkins, who has previously worked with artists including Lionel Richie and Whitney Houston, is also reportedly producing new records for Mary J. Blige and Cassie.
Jackson's new album is expected to be released next year.
