The US singer-songwriter will collaborate with director and playwright Tina Landau as well as lyricist Michael Korie on Beauty, a new production of the classic Sleeping Beauty story.
According to Playbill, Spektor will pen the music for the project that intends to "use the 1812 fairy tale Sleeping Beauty as a jumping-off point for a contemporary and hauntingly provocative story of beauty lost and beauty found".
Beauty is scheduled to open on Broadway in time for the 2011 to 2012 season.
