The Dutch singer, who signed to EMI after her song 'Silly Boy' became an online smash over the summer, is close to completing the record for an early 2010 release.
"I want to have a huge album that's like 18 or 19 tracks. I hate those albums where there's only like ten tracks and you're left thinking, 'Is this it?'" she told DS.
"So far I've got hundreds to choose from, so I might release a few mixtapes too. That way people can hear the stuff that doesn't make the album."
Simons, 24, described the album's sound as "very uptempo, very electronic and very exciting".
"The way I sing is quite urban, but the beats are going to be club beats and there will definitely be elements of rock too," she said.
'Silly Boy' by Eva Simons is available to download now.
