The Celebrity Big Brother star, who quit the group in 2005 and was replaced by Berrabah, blasted recent reports suggesting that there is in-fighting within the 'Get Sexy' band.
"I would not say Keisha is a bully, I never left because of her, I left because I wanted to," Buena told ITN.
"I think it's overexaggerated. I don't think they are breaking up. It's just good publicity."
Meanwhile, former Mis-teeq singer Su-Elise Nash stepped in to defend Buchanan, saying: "I think it's a big hype that has been made out of nothing. Keisha is not bullying her. She's a good girl and a good friend of mine."
Sugababes are currently in Los Angeles shooting the video to new single 'About A Girl'. New album Sweet 7 follows in November.
