The track '11th Dimension' is currently streaming from Casablancas's MySpace page. The song is due to be released as a single on November 2, following the release of his debut solo album Phrazes For The Young on October 19.
Speaking in an interview with NME about his songwriting process, Casablancas said: "I write stuff on a generic keyboard that has an organ or electric piano sound. Or on a guitar, but then, as I was building the song, if I thought it should be more like a whistling sound, with a keyboard and a laptop, it's easy to make that particular melody anything you want.
"I wasn't really acquiring any old, cool gear [to make the album], it was working with friends and engineers who had programmes that could find any sound your heart desired!"
As previously reported, Casablancas recently reassured fans that his solo work is not a sign that The Strokes were finished.
