The Stone Temple Pilots frontman, who allegedly has a history of the medical condition, experienced the attack while travelling from Los Angeles to Miami.
According to Perez Hilton, the plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The 41-year-old was then quickly transported to the nearest hospital for "precautionary measures".
Since leaving Velvet Revolver last year, the band has confirmed that they are still in search of a new singer to replace Weiland.
