The former X Factor winner told the Sunday Mirror that she was happy to perform Lauper's 'True Colours' and her own upcoming track 'Happy' at the VH1 Diva Awards in New York last week.
Lewis said: "Performing with Cyndi was a dream come true. 'True Colours' is one of my favourite songs. It's great to have performed my new single."
Regarding the title of 'diva', she added: "I've never been a diva. I'm still the same girl I've always been and there are no airs or graces around me. I don't travel with some huge entourage.
"I'm probably the most down-to-earth person you'll meet. I've not had to work hard at that. It's just the way I am."
Lewis recently said that her "reality check" is her friends and family who keep her grounded despite her success.
