Tom Clarke has said that he wants his band The Enemy to record the official England song for the 2010 World Cup.

The football team qualified for the games in South Africa with their 5-1 victory over Croatia in a match at Wembley Stadium earlier this month.

Clarke told The Sun: "I'd like to get Peter Crouch to rap. We'd let him do his robot dance too.

"I reckon Wayne Rooney could be an angry rapper. We'd do it just so we could say, 'We've recorded the official England song'. If we brought out a good song England might win it."

Previous chart-topping England singles include the squad's 'Back Home'/'Cinnamon Stick' in 1970, England and New Order's 'World In Motion' in 1990 and official European Championship track 'Three Lions' from comedians Skinner and Baddiel with the Lightning Seeds in 1996.
