The duo announced their split yesterday following the death of Dave's wife Sue in July.
On the prospect of a farewell gig, Chas told NME: "That would be entirely up to Dave, a farewell gig. I'd be up for it if Dave wants to do it - but I've left it entirely up to Dave.
"He said to me about a month ago. He just said 'I don't wanna come back to work, old boy. I'm happy doing what I'm doing'. He's got his gypsy wagons he restores."
Meanwhile, Carl Barat of self-confessed Chas & Dave fans The Libertines said of the split: "I'm shocked to my socks. A cultural earthquake.
"Maybe they'll get on the reformation train. Seems to be the way of things, y'know?"
