Alphabeat LP 'influenced by '90s dance'

The six-piece, who released debut This Is Alphabeat last summer, revealed that they have been influenced by early '90s dance on the new record.
"The first album was really fun and reflected how we felt: confused and quite bonkers. We feel very confident about this record. We are probably going to lose the people who loved the band sound. We decided to have a very defined, pop sound," Anders SG told Attitude.
"We started making this album when we had a few songs on This Is Alphabeat where you can hear where we are going.
"The sound is a lot less bandy and more dancey. We just started to build on that and tried to make a pop record. There's a lot of references to the early '90s.
"'The Spell' is inspired by the Black Box song 'I Don't Know Anybody Else'. It's a fully-fledged dance record."
Alphabeat release new single 'The Spell' on October 12. Their album, also called The Spell, follows on November 2.
