Recent rumours suggested that the group had decided to stop working together.
However, the band later claimed that they are working on a third album, while Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt said that they are embarking on solo projects.
Speaking to MTV News, Melody Thornton agreed: "Right now the Pussycat Dolls are on a break. It's actually a much-needed break.
"It's like when you're with your sisters for 24 hours a day and you need to take your own shower."
She insisted that the group hadn't broken up and said that she wanted to continue making music.
"I always tell people that I've been working since the beginning of Pussycat Dolls and making records and always staying true to my passion, which is music, because I love it," she explained.
"Absolutely I'm making music. I love it and I'm going to live it."
Earlier this month, the band admitted that they occasionally "clash".
