According to The Sun, Moss's decision to sign up to the group may indicate that she is about to embark on a new music project with boyfriend and Kills frontman Jamie Hince.
A PRS for Music spokesman said: "Kate has co-written some songs with Pete Doherty and she will now be able to collect her share of the royalties.
"For any future songs she writes - and which are played on radio, TV or live - we will also collect the royalties due. Both Pete Doherty and Jamie Hince are members. We are glad to welcome Kate too."
A source said of Hince: "He's so used to hearing Kate sing, at home and in karaoke, that he's tempted to give it a go. She makes no secret of wanting to record more stuff before it's too late for her."
Moss played tambourine on the Oasis and Friends version of 'Fade Away' for The Help Album in 1995 and sung on Primal Scream's 2002 cover of 'Some Velvet Morning'.
She also sang on Babyshambles' Down In Albion opener 'La Belle et la Bête' and co-wrote 'You Talk', 'French Dog Blues', 'Baddie's Boogie' and 'Deft Left Hand' on follow-up Shotter's Nation.
