Filing the lawsuit are British record label Independiente as well as the US division of Domino Records, who are both seeking damages against the band and the album's producers.
The songs in question, 'Wherever You Are' and 'A Strangely Isolated Place' by German electronic musician Ulrich Schnauss, were used without permission on the Guns N' Roses track 'Riad N' The Bedouins', according to the lawsuit.
Chinese Democracy, the band's first new album for over 17 years, was released in November 2008.
