The folk-rock singer-songwriter told Bang Showbiz that he is a fan of up-and-coming performers who pen their own tunes.
Donovan said: "Lily Allen I like, yeah sure, all the young boys and girls that are coming up with their own songs. Singer-songwriters I love. It would be great to play live with her.
"I'm hoping to do so on my tour - there will be an open invitation to young songwriters in the capitals of the world I'm playing in to join me on stage so I can highlight what they're doing."
He added: "I collaborate mostly with girls because of the goddess aspect. The girls work better with me than the boys. There are many throughout the world which I am going to discover I am sure."
Donovan had a number of hit singles in the mid-1960s, including 'Sunshine Superman', 'Mellow Yellow' and 'The Hurdy Gurdy Man'.
