The electro duo, made up of Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, recorded the soundtrack's strings and orchestral parts at Abbey Road Studios in London, where the Beatles recorded most of their albums.
"It is official," the group wrote on their blog. "We have written the score for a film called Nowhere Boy. It's about John Lennon as a boy and stars Aaron Johnson, Kristin Scott-Thomas and Anne-Marie Duff.
"It's Sam Taylor-Wood's first feature film and it's truly amazing that they gave us the opportunity to do this."
The group added: "Now our work on the film is almost finished, we will carry on writing the Goldfrapp album."
Nowhere Boy will premiere at the London Film Festical on October 29.
