The pair collaborated on a number of songs from Shakira's upcoming She Wolf album.
Angry Ape quoted the Columbian as saying: "In five days Pharrell and I did four tracks together. What was interesting is that he's very fast and immediate in the studio and I'm a little slower."
She added: "When collaborating you always try and capture something from the other person and I learned a lot from his method."
The songs Williams worked on are 'Did it Again', 'Why Wait', 'Good Stuff' and 'Long Time'. She Wolf is released in the UK on Monday.
