St Winifred's Choir reform for charity
Published Monday, Oct 12 2009, 16:40 BST | By Alex Fletcher

The group, who knocked John Lennon off the top spot with the original, are raising money for the Big Knit with the new version. They are hoping to raise over £250,000 for Age Concern and Help The Aged.
Written by Gordon Lorenz, the song was number one for the Stockport school between December 27, 1980 and January 3, 1981.
The original singers are now in their 30s and early 40s and their occupations include police detective, human resources consultant and mortgage advisor. Former Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay (Shelley Unwin) was also a member of the original lineup.
The Big Knit charity single will be released in November.
