The 'Mama Do' singer triumphed over Florence and the Machine, The Saturdays, Tinchy Stryder and La Roux to nab the honour, according to MTV.
Lott, 18, will now compete against 21 other regional acts in a bid to be nominated in the best European act category.
The five acts with the most public votes will be announced on November 2. The award will be handed out at the live ceremony.
She has also been nominated in the best new act and best push artist categories at this year's show, which takes place in Berlin on November 5.
It was previously confirmed that Katy Perry will host the event. Green Day, Leona Lewis and Tokio Hotel are among the scheduled performers on the night.
