WENN
The US indie rockers previously confirmed that they will reunite for two dates, one in New York in September and another at their self-curated All Tomorrow's Parties event in May.
Asked if Pavement planned to enter the studio in 2010, drummer Bob Nastanovich simply replied: "No."
Nastanovich went on to talk about the circumstances that led to the band's previous split, telling The Quietus: "We quit in 1999 because we were exhausted, didn't know what direction to go in and Stephen (Malkmus) wanted to do something else.
"We might as well reunite. And did it take a lot of prolonged dialogue and intense meetings fuelled by whisky drinking? No. Our long-time US booking agent Boche had dinner with Stephen in Chicago this Summer and they agreed to work on Pavement in 2010. The rest of us have always been willing."
