The 'Oopsy Daisy' rapper - who is on course to secure the top spot in the album chart with debut I Am Chipmunk this weekend - was inspired to start his own company after a conversation with Simon Cowell, The Sun reports.
"It was amazing," Chipmunk said of his meeting with the pop mogul at The X Factor last weekend. "Simon invited me down personally then came and found me.
"He said he thought my album was brilliant and that he'd been keeping a close eye on my career. To get praise from someone as significant as Simon was great."
The star added: "I'm setting up my own record label and if I can have just 1% of the success he's managed that'd be unbelievable."
