The record, due in early 2010, is already believed to feature collaborations with T.I., Lil Wayne and Nas.
The rapper told MTV News that he is targeting Jay-Z, who previously co-wrote the lyrics for his hit single 'Still D.R.E.', following the success of his recent album The Blueprint 3.
"Well, actually, Jay-Z's just been in the studio doing some writing," he said. "Hopefully I'll get him to perform on the record. Jay, come holler."
The follow-up to 1999's 2001 was originally scheduled for release in 2004.
