Outrage at Ladyhawke ARIA performance slot
Published Friday, Oct 16 2009, 09:08 BST | By Rebecca Davies

The announcement, which confirmed that Ladyhawke had been chosen as one of the main acts at the Australian awards show over Sarah Blasko, Kate Miller-Heidke and Lisa Mitchell, has caused outrage among patriotic music fans.
Industry experts have said that Ladyhawke is not eligible for the event as, in previous years, Kiwis including Neil Finn and Evermore have been banned from performing.
A spokesperson for Blasko's label Dew Process told The Daily Telegraph: "I think the problem lies with the criteria set by ARIA for who gets the performance slots, or qualifies for nomination - and that needs to be looked at."
The awards will be held on November 26.
