Entertainment company Marctensia confirmed in a statement that the singer had postponed the live date in Kuala Lumpur, originally scheduled for October 25.
"The postponement is solely [the] decision of the artiste and has nothing to do with other external reasons," they said.
Marcentensia stated that a rescheduled date would be announced in the future and Beyoncé's management are expected to make a statement later this week.
According to Reuters, the Pan Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) recently tried to stop Canadian singer Avril Lavigne from performing in the country.
Beyoncé was previously forced to cancel a live show in 2007 because of the strict dress code.
Earlier this month, the country reportedly attempted to ban Muslims from attending a concert by US hip-hop band the Black Eyed Peas, which was sponsored by Guinness.
