Bruce Springsteen cancelled a performance last night following the death of his cousin.

The 'Born To Run' star and his E Street Band had been scheduled to appear in Kansas City when Lenny Sullivan was discovered dead in his hotel room.

A statement on his website said: "A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family."

Sullivan had worked as the assistant road manager of the E Street Band for the past ten years. He was 36 years old.

According to The AP, he was found dead at Kansas City's Intercontinental Hotel. A police spokesperson said that officers were investigating but it was not thought to be suspicious.

The statement added that all tickets would be refunded and that Springsteen and the Band "deepy appreciate the understanding" of the audience.
