The Chelsea star, who met Bratt at the premiere for his new movie Dead Man Running, described the young singer as "amazing".
"Ashley was so excited when he bumped into Bratt on the red carpet," a source told DS. "He was being ushered through but couldn't stop chatting to her."
Bratt releases her new single 'I Like You' in November and will follow it up with her debut album in summer 2010.
A spokesperson for the singer said: "Bratt is extremely flattered that Ashley is a fan and would definitely consider working with Cheryl when the time is right."
Cheryl released her debut solo record 3 Words on Monday.
