Nick is currently producing new songs without siblings Kevin or Joe, Denise told Parade.
"Nick is working on a solo act - it's called Nick Jonas and The Administration. Shhh! He's at the photo shoot for the album cover right now," she said.
The Jonas Brothers want their fans to rest assured that the group is not splitting up. "We plan to make music together for as long as we can," they wrote in a letter to fans shared with People.
Earlier this month, a source told E! Online that the Jonas Brothers would not split if Nick released a record, saying: "JB is not ending or even breaking. [This is] just a side-project between JB albums." It is unclear whether brothers Kevin and Joe are working on any side projects of their own.
The band's fourth studio album, Lines, Vines and Trying Times, debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart in June. There is currently no release date for Nick's solo record.
