Last week, the former Smiths frontman was rushed to hospital after suffering from breathing difficulties during a show at the Oasis Leisure Centre in Swindon.
Playing his first gig since the incident, the singer warned the audience last night: "Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night." He then performed 'This Charming Man', the track he was playing when he collapsed.
He also poked fun at himself by falling to the ground and lying on the floor for a few minutes during the climax of 'How Soon Is Now?'.
Afterwards, he joked: "The doctor said I shouldn't smile. I told him I don't." The singer's 19-song setlist included Smiths tracks 'Nowhere Fast' and 'Is It Really So Strange?' and a large number of tracks from his B-side compilation Swords.
