Sir Elton John has postponed the final date of his world tour at Dublin's O2 arena due to illness.
The singer had already scrapped a series of previous shows on the jaunt. An announcement on his official website explained that he had not recovered in time for tonight's performance.
"He is bitterly disappointed not to [be] playing Dublin," John's spokesperson said. "He had picked Dublin to close the 'Red Piano' [tour] worldwide, because of the great warmth of the people and the great concerts he had in the city over many years.
"He is hoping to reschedule the dates in the very near future."
Fans have been advised by promoters to keep hold of their tickets and await further details as they attempt to reschedule the dates.
