The 34-year-old rapper has admitted that he frequently references his tough upbringing in New York City to please his fanbase.
50 Cent told Bang Showbiz: "For a certain audience some guys can just make straight pop records and it will go to a 40 or 50 million audience and they can just be happy, like their records.
"But because of the public has assessed me in a certain way, they expect from me to have that kind of aggression that 'Crimewave' embodies.
"And they are looking for that. Even if you have a big hit record like 'P.I.M.P.', they still want the 'Crimewave' record, they still want that record that feels like the environment I grew up in feels like."
50 Cent has said that he has come to terms with his position in hip-hop and will continue to make records that his fans enjoy.
He added: "It doesn't put pressure on me because I have assessed it. If they place those standards on you, you got to make the adjustments."
50 Cent's forthcoming album Before I Self Destruct, which was recently leaked online, is to be released next month.
