The guitarist revealed his desires to BBC 6 Music while on the red carpet at the Classic Rock Awards in London yesterday.
The 62-year-old said of the band's current relationship: "It's all very good. I saw Mick [Jagger] and Charlie [Watts] last week. Everything is great."
Asked if he is keen to get back on stage, he added: "Yeah, well I just did that with The Faces, but I’m ready to rock. Let's hope so, yeah."
Wood later won the 'Outstanding Contribution To Music' prize at the event. Picking up his accolade at the Park Lane ceremony, he enthused: "It means a lot. It's about time - I've never had one just for myself."
