Leona Lewis has praised Beyoncé following the R&B star's success at last night's MTV EMAs.

Beyoncé scored a hat-trick of awards at the ceremony - 'Best Female', 'Best Song' for 'Halo' and 'Best Video' for 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)'. After the show, Lewis revealed her admiration for the singer.

"I'm a huge fan of Beyoncé and it was amazing to perform on the same stage," the 'Happy' artist told MTV.

"She's such a strong, powerful female, she's got a strong presence in the music industry and she's got great music."

Lewis said of host city Berlin: "On the anniversary of the wall coming down it represents freedom and I think it's great to be here to celebrate that."
