The 'Bad Romance' singer explained that her followers have also taught her things about herself.
"The past year, it's been unbelievable," she told MTV News. "It's been a phenomenal, inspiring experience."
She continued: "I love my fans so much, and more than anything, I discovered lots of things about myself that I didn't know before through my fans. Because I was giving them so much in my shows.
"I have a very raw performance style and [I'm] leaving my heart on the stage every night, and they were giving me so much back in return that when the show was over, I wanted to write. I wanted to make music."
GaGa is currently rehearsing for her 'Monster Ball' tour which begins in Montreal later this month.
